On October 26, 1997, the campus of the George Washington University was blessed with the presence of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. Five sensational women, Tracey Fenwick, LaToyia Moore, Eliza Thompson, Nana Jeffrey-Idun, and Narkai Kamara brought a new wave of community involvement to the campus. The campus was graced with three more members during the Spring on 1999. There were three more additions in the Spring of 2000. The organization continued to grow.

In Fall 2004, Zeta Phi Beta was revitalized on the campus of The George Washington University as a colony. What started out with two sorors, Loryn Wilson and Stephanie Samuel has blossomed into an organization of six women who charted Xi Sigma chapter on January 28, 2006. The charter members, Loryn Wilson, Katrina Minor, Nicole Williams, Shirli Tay, Cherelle Kantey and Davie Williams-Yarborough brought the first chartered Zeta chapter the George Washington University has ever seen.

Currently, Xi Sigma chapter focuses its energy on community service and campus involvement. The March of Dimes Walk, the Women’s Health Forum with Lucy Perez, Blue Cafe and the Zeta Card Party for Katrina Relief are just a few of the events that make this an outstanding chapter. After its chartering, Xi Sigma chapter received recognition in the GW Hatchet, GW-TV and won three awards including the Silver Award for Office of Greek Life Chapter Excellence. Xi Sigma chapter plans to strive for excellence and exemplify the principles of Scholarship, Service, Sisterly Love and Finer Womanhood well into the future.
